Basketball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

Milan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Southwestern Rebels, falling 61-22. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Southwestern found their leader in sophomore Baleigh McAfee, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for McAfee. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Nussbaum, who had four points and seven steals.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Southwestern, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Milan will be playing in front of their home fans against Edinburgh at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southwestern, they will welcome New Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
