Basketball Recap: Haysville Campus Takes a Loss

Haysville Campus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Derby Panthers 89-50. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Derby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cayden Titus, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Titus continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ulwelling, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points.

Haysville Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Derby, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Coming up, Haysville Campus will venture away from home to take on Goddard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Derby, they will welcome Hutchinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Derby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Hutchinson likes a good challenge.
