Baseball Recap: Epiphany Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pungo Christian Academy, Epiphany was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Gramercy Christian Warriors a 9-0 shutout. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Will Gent's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Trent, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrew Connolly, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Epiphany's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Epiphany will head out to face off against Greenfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gramercy Christian, they will host New Bern Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Gramercy Christian's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
