Softball Recap: Lanesville Takes a Loss

Lanesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Charlestown Pirates. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Lanesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Albers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Albers' first of the season.

Lanesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Charlestown, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Lanesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against New Albany on the 12th. As for Charlestown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Rising Sun on the 12th.
