Baseball Recap: Hollis Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Hollis finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell 6-2 to the Sayre Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 two weeks ago.

Klay Seddon was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Hollis' loss dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Sayre, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Coming up, Hollis will welcome Cordell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Sayre, they are taking a road trip to challenge Navajo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
