Recap: Black River Pirates vs. Keystone Wildcats
The Black River Pirates lost against the Keystone Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Black River was outmatched by Keystone at home and fell 61-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Black River in their matchups with Keystone: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Keystone to victory were Vivian Cassell and Brooklyn Barber. Cassell dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds, while Barber went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 1 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Barber has scored at least 25% of Keystone's points. Helayna Houston was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 11 assists and 3 steals.
Black River now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Keystone, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Black River will head out on the road to face off against Temple Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Keystone, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
