Compton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Rancho Dominguez Lobos by a score of 35-22. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tarbabes as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Compton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ameer Freeman, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Mixon, who picked up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Compton was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 423 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Micah Hawkins and Davonte Foley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hawkins gained 236 total yards and three touchdowns, while Foley threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns.

Compton will challenge Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rancho Dominguez, they are taking a road trip to face off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
