Softball Recap: Tipton Wins Going Away Against Lafayette Central Catholic

The matchup between Tipton and Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 24-10 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Lacey Bitner was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Comer, who scored three runs while going 3-for-6.

Tipton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .566. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lafayette Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .371.

Tipton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Tipton will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Western at 11:00 a.m. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Frankfort at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
