Preview: Burbank vs. Sam Houston
Burbank is on a three-game streak of home losses, Sam Houston a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Burbank Bulldogs will take on the Sam Houston Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sam Houston took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Burbank, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, Burbank narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Brackenridge 2-1. The victory was just what Burbank needed coming off of a 3-0 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Sam Houston fell victim to Jefferson's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 12-0 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sam Houston in their matchups with Jefferson: they've now lost four in a row.
Burbank's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Sam Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Burbank's way against Sam Houston in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as Burbank made off with a 7-4 victory. Will Burbank repeat their success, or does Sam Houston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
