Basketball Recap: Copan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bluejacket

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Copan). Everything went their way against the Bluejacket Chieftains on Tuesday as the Copan Hornets made off with a 68-48 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now won eight in a row.

Copan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elyzabeth Odum out in front who posted 24 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Odum has scored at least a third of Copan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Van, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 21 points.

Copan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Copan pushed their record up to 8-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Bluejacket, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

As of now, neither Copan nor Bluejacket have any future games scheduled.
