Softball Recap: Monsignor McClancy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cardinal Spellman last Friday, Monsignor McClancy came back down to earth. The Crusaders came up short against the Xaverian Clippers on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alison Toribio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Monsignor McClancy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Xaverian, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monsignor McClancy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Xaverian, they will square off against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
