Softball Recap: Post Sets Scoring Season-High Against Borden County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Post). Everything went their way against the Borden County Coyotes on Thursday as the Post Antelopes made off with a 20-4 win. Considering the Antelopes have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayleigh Parker was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amberly Garza, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3.

Post always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Post is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. Borden County is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Post will square off against Morton at 12:00 p.m. on March 15th. As for Borden County, they and Ira will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Borden County has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
