Basketball Recap: PikeView Comes Up Short

PikeView played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Greenbrier East Spartans an easy 68-44 win. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

PikeView now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Greenbrier East, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

PikeView won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bluefield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. PikeView is facing Bluefield at the right time seeing as Bluefield is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Greenbrier East will take on Woodrow Wilson in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenbrier East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Woodrow Wilson likes a good challenge.
