Volleyball Game Preview: Corry Beavers vs. Saegertown Panthers

Corry has gone 8-2 against Saegertown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Beavers will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Corry took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northwestern with a sharp 3-0 win. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

Among those leading the charge was Sydney Mineo, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 12 matches. Brynley Watrous was another key player, getting ten digs.

Meanwhile, Saegertown played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Eisenhower. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0).

Saegertown never let Eisenhower on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-8, 26-24, 25-21.

Corry's win bumped their record up to 31-1-5. As for Saegertown, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8-2.

Corry came out on top in a nail-biter against Saegertown when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
