Football Recap: Lake Gibson Braves vs. Winter Haven Blue Devils
While Lake Gibson put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Winter Haven. The Lake Gibson Braves blew past the Winter Haven Blue Devils 38-0 on the road. The contest marked the Braves' most dominant victory of the season.
A big part of Lake Gibson's win came down to the chemistry between Collin Henderson and his top target Adonis Cuyler. Henderson threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes while Cuyler picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (142 yards to be exact) also went to Derrick Mcbride.
Lake Gibson's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Winter Haven, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Lake Gibson will challenge Sebring at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Gibson is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. As for Winter Haven, they will face off against Ridge Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
