Basketball Game Preview: Mohave Thunderbirds vs. Coconino Panthers

Mohave hasn't had much luck against Coconino recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mohave Thunderbirds will challenge the Coconino Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mohave is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Flagstaff, falling 59-17. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Eagles are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Coconino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Prescott 70-32.

Mohave's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Coconino, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Mohave came up short against Coconino in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 50-41. Can Mohave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
