Soccer Recap: Gonzaga Prep Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Lewis & Clark

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Gonzaga Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lewis & Clark Tigers a 1-0 shutout. The victory was all the more spectacular given Gonzaga Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Lewis & Clark are ranked 11th).

Gonzaga Prep's one-goal win came courtesy of Brian McGann, who's now up to two this season.

Gonzaga Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Lewis & Clark fell to 10-1-1.

Gonzaga Prep has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against University on the 25th. As for Lewis & Clark, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Central Valley on the 25th.
