Volleyball Recap: Clinton Prairie Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western, Clinton Prairie was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers by a score of 3-1. The Gophers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargin' Chargers, too.

The win didn't come easy: North Montgomery scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Ellie Brettnacher, who had 13 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Clinton Prairie was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, North Montgomery had strong showings from Kate Merica, who had seven digs, three blocks, and three aces, and Lilly Graham, who had 34 digs.

Clinton Prairie now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Clinton Prairie will take on Benton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Montgomery, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bethesda Christian on the 23rd.
