Basketball Recap: El Diamante Takes a Loss

El Diamante came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Redwood Rangers by a score of 40-37 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost four in a row.

Cole Gilcrest was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards for Redwood. Isaac Esquivel was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

El Diamante's loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Redwood, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10.

El Diamante has already played their next matchup (against Golden West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Redwood will square off against Mt. Whitney at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood is facing Mt. Whitney at the right time seeing as Mt. Whitney is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
