Flag Football Recap: San Ysidro Beats Mar Vista for Their Third Straight Win

San Ysidro won against Montgomery on Tuesday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Cougars beat the Mar Vista Mariners by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 60-6. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 32 points or more this season.

Vida Sanchez produced another solid performance throwing for 214 yards and six TDs while completing 72.2% of her passes, and also rushing for 44 yards and one touchdown. She is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for six or more in each of the last three games she's played.

San Ysidro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isabella Guzman and Rhiane Fadriquela. Guzman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for San Ysidro, bringing their record up to 11-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Mar Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

San Ysidro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-6 victory against Southwest SD on the 14th. As for Mar Vista, they have also already played their next matchup, a 36-0 loss against Montgomery on the 14th.
