Volleyball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sumner lost against Bloomingdale back in August of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Stingrays lost 3-0 to the Bulls. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why Sumner lost, don't look at Victoria Benitez. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two aces. Benitez is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Bloomingdale had a senior duo take command as Shelby Slein had 18 digs and five aces and Ella Izett had 23 digs and five assists. With that strong performance, Slein is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bloomingdale, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Sumner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bloomingdale, they will be playing at home against East Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
