Volleyball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sumner lost against Bloomingdale back in August of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Stingrays came up short against the Bulls, falling 3-0. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-13.

Nahya Torres paced Sumner's offense, picking up eight kills. Torres got some help from Victoria Benitez and her 14 assists. Benitez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Bloomingdale had a senior duo take command as Shelby Slein had 18 digs and five aces and Ella Izett had 23 digs and five assists. With that strong performance, Slein is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bloomingdale, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Sumner has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Riverview on the 14th. As for Bloomingdale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against East Bay on the 8th.
