Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Prep Eaglets vs. West Bloomfield Lakers

St. Mary's Prep had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 53-point drubbing they dealt Lakeland on Wednesday. St. Mary's Prep simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lakeland 75-22. Given the Eaglets' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth in Michigan, while the Eagles are ranked 203rd in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Bloomfield came into Wednesday's game having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Walled Lake Central 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lakers have posted since December 3, 2024.

West Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for St. Mary's Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
