Soccer Game Preview: Vernon Hills vs. Grayslake Central

The Vernon Hills Cougars will take on the Grayslake Central Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Vernon Hills fell victim to Wauconda and their airtight defense last Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Grayslake Central was not quite Deerfield's equal in the second half last Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Warriors. Grayslake Central haven't had much luck with Deerfield recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Vernon Hills now has a losing record of 0-1-1. As for Grayslake Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Vernon Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Grayslake Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Vernon Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grayslake Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
