Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Chapin

Berkeley hasn't had much luck against Chapin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stags will head out to challenge the Eagles. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Berkeley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Irmo a 4-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Berkeley were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Chapin came tearing into last Tuesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Bengals as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Chapin might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Blythewood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Laken Lane, Cora Harp, and Lexie Kilmon.

Berkeley's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Chapin, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Berkeley might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Chapin in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Stags avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
