Basketball Game Preview: Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats vs. Murphysboro Red Devils

The Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats will challenge the Murphysboro Red Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Anna-Jonesboro and six for Murphysboro.

Anna-Jonesboro is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 60-34 to Frankfort.

Meanwhile, Murphysboro played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Carterville, falling 47-22. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-4.

Murphysboro's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Anna-Jonesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything came up roses for Anna-Jonesboro against Murphysboro in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-32 victory. Will Anna-Jonesboro repeat their success, or does Murphysboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
