East Ascension waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 46-28 win over the Livonia Wildcats. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Wildcats are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Ascension's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Livonia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

East Ascension and Glen Oaks will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Livonia, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scotlandville at 2:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
