Softball Recap: Foxcroft None vs. Seton Conquistadors

Sadly, Foxcroft is still looking for their first win of the season after four matchups. They suffered a tough 22-6 loss at the hands of the Seton Conquistadors on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Foxcroft of the 17-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Foxcroft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Sakarisson, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

On Seton's side, Olivia Chau made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs but no hits. Chau has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Chau was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and a triple.

In other batting news, Seton got a massive performance out of Catherine Witter, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amelia Geary, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Foxcroft's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Seton, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Foxcroft will be playing in front of their home fans against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.4 runs per game on average), something Foxcroft will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seton, they will head out on the road to challenge Oakcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 15 runs per game this season.
