Volleyball Recap: Covington's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Covington's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Crockett County Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Covington ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.

Ava McCalla paced Covington's offense, picking up 26 kills. McCalla got some help from Caroline Cole and her 33 assists. McCalla also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kinslee Hamm, each putting up two.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Crockett County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Covington nor Crockett County have any future games scheduled.
