Softball Game Preview: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Choctawhatchee Indians

After both having extra time off, the Gulf Breeze Dolphins and the Choctawhatchee Indians will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Gulf Breeze nor Choctawhatchee posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Friday, Gulf Breeze came up short against Jay and fell 5-2.

Gulf Breeze saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sally Alberson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ashlynn Stemcosky also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Choctawhatchee's offense. They lost 14-0 to Fort Walton Beach last Saturday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Choctawhatchee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Gulf Breeze came out on top in a nail-biter against Choctawhatchee when the teams last played last Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gulf Breeze since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
