Carroll County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Galax Maroon Tide a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Carroll County, who have now won five contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Carroll County pushed their record up to 8-2-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Galax, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12-1.
