Football Game Preview: Benjamin Buccaneers vs. Seminole Ridge Hawks

The Benjamin Buccaneers will head out on the road to square off against the Seminole Ridge Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Benjamin turned things around against Victory Christian Academy on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 29-14 victory over the Storm.

Benjamin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlie Smith, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Terrion Ivy-Akins handled things on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.

Benjamin's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Collin Murphy and Ryan Brown, who racked up five sacks between them. Murphy also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Seminole Ridge sidestepped Palm Beach Gardens for a 17-14 win.

Benjamin better keep an eye on Rasheed Lamar. He was instrumental in Seminole Ridge's win, rushing for 105 yards and one score on only ten carries. Lamar really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Caelin Argue also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Seminole Ridge, their record now sits at 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Benjamin against Seminole Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-12 win. In that game, the Buccaneers amassed a halftime lead of 49-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
