Softball Recap: Lafayette Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Lafayette won the last time they faced Vermilion Catholic and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lions blew past the Eagles 16-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Ansylie Mayon was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Caroline Terro was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lafayette's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Vermilion Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season.

Lafayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vermilion Catholic: the pair will be back at it again later today.
