Baseball Recap: Bruce Takes a Loss

After flying high against Houlka last Saturday, Bruce came back down to earth. The Bruce Trojans came up short against the North Pontotoc Vikings on Tuesday, falling 15-2. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Cane Necaise was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Luke Stewart also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Bruce's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for North Pontotoc, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

When Bruce and North Pontotoc next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bruce will try to stop Water Valley's four-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. Meanwhile, North Pontotoc will square off against Hardin County and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
