Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pender

Pender had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wisner-Pilger Gators. The Pendragons were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Gators, so the Pendragons were just returning the favor.

While Pender won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20.

Kaylee Schroeder paced Pender's offense, picking up nine kills. Schroeder got some help from Hadley Walsh and her 16 assists. Finally, Schroeder was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Pender now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Wisner-Pilger, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Pender will head out to face off against Cedar Bluffs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will welcome Battle Creek on Thursday.
