Soccer Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Columbus after they claimed the first goal on Monday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Norfolk Panthers by a score of 2-1. Columbus were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Norfolk apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Columbus' goal came courtesy of Molly Goc, which was the first she's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbus and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Norfolk, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbus is set to take on their familiar foe Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Norfolk will square off against rival Lincoln High at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
