Recap: Wheatmore Warriors vs. North Davidson Black Knights
The Wheatmore Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a tough 58-37 defeat at the hands of North Davidson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wheatmore has scored all season.
Wheatmore lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Strickland, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Strickland also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. Parker Kines was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Mabe, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Drew Hege, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Wheatmore will be playing in front of their home fans against East Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Davidson will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Southwestern Randolph is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
