Baseball Game Preview: Rainier Mountaineers vs. Toledo Indians

For the second straight game, Rainier will face off against Toledo. The Mountaineers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Rainier was able to grind out a solid win over Toledo, taking the game 5-2.

Peyton Sheaffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Rainier got a massive performance out of Yazama Gurnsey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Gurnsey also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Cughan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Rainier's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Toledo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
