Football Recap: Avon Lake Comes Up Short

Avon Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 43-12 defeat at the hands of the Avon Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Shoremen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Eagles are ranked eighth).

Avon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Avon, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coming up, Avon Lake will be playing at home against Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avon, they are taking a road trip to square off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
