Basketball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Tempe Buffaloes and fell 62-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Dons have suffered against the Buffaloes since December 17, 2014.

It was another big night for Nassir Cobbs, who posted 21 points for Tempe. Cobbs has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Criss, who earned 15 points.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Tempe, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-8.

Coronado will host Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coronado is facing Glendale at the right time seeing as Glendale is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tempe, they will take on Marcos de Niza at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th.
