Baseball Recap: St. Brendan Comes Up Short

St. Brendan came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the Southwest Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Sabres have suffered since March 13, 2024.

Luciano Nava was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits.

St. Brendan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Southwest, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, St. Brendan is taking a road trip to challenge Coral Gables at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Southwest Eagles take on Ferguson Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
