Baseball Recap: Moorhead Takes a Loss

Moorhead was the 9-4 winner over Minnetonka when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spuds fell just short of the Skippers by a score of 6-4 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Spuds have lost by exactly two runs.

Taye Reich was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Fredrickson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Moorhead and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Minnetonka, their record now sits at 3-1.

Looking ahead, Moorhead will face off against Sheyenne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Minnetonka, they will square off against Stillwater at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
