Baseball Game Preview: Brookeland Wildcats vs. Woden Eagles

The Brookeland Wildcats will square off against the Woden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Brookeland's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Woden's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brookeland is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Danbury just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 14-1 to the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Woden was able to grind out a solid win over Timpson on Thursday, taking the game 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Wade Stanaland was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Woden's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Kennedy Kaesyn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Woden's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Brookeland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
