Basketball Recap: Vergennes Comes Up Short

Vergennes and Milton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Vergennes had to settle for second. They lost 57-34 to the Milton Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-44 back in February.

Vergennes has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. The win (which was Milton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Vergennes will head out to challenge Bellows Free Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Milton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
