After losing to South Decatur the last time they met, Southwestern decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rebels won by a set and slipped past the Cougars 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Southwestern had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-12, 15-12.

Jenna Owens paced Southwestern's offense, picking up 12 kills. Owens got some help from Hillarie Buchanan and her 16 assists. Owens was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Southwestern's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Southwestern will square off against Rock Creek Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Decatur, they will host Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
