Arms from California and Florida represent one-third of teams.

With Opening Day of the 2024 MLB season set for Thursday, we look back at where all of the starting pitchers went to high school. California and Florida each have five of the 30 projected starters.

A California and Florida starter will even face off as Jupiter (Fla.) alum Miles Mikolas of the St. Louis Cardinals will pitch against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tyler Glasnow, who hails from Hart (Newhall, Calif.).

Mississippi is the only other state with at least two Opening Day starting pitchers. Magnolia State natives Garrett Crochet and Justin Steele are expected to take the mound for the White Sox and Cubs, respectively.

In total, 12 states are represented along with Columbia, Dominican Republic, Japan, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
