Basketball Recap: Midlakes Takes a Loss

Midlakes was the 47-45 winner over Waterloo when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Midlakes Screaming Eagles were dealt a 70-31 loss at the hands of the Waterloo Tigers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Screaming Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Tigers are ranked 164th).

Midlakes has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Waterloo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Midlakes has already played their next match (against Newark), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Waterloo will head out to challenge Palmyra-Macedon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waterloo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Palmyra-Macedon likes a good challenge.
