Volleyball Recap: Isle of Wight Academy Comes Up Short

Isle of Wight Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-18, 25-12.

Kirbie Edwards paced Isle of Wight Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Edwards got some help from Christina Petruzalek and her five assists. Finally, Libby Allen kept Isle of Wight Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Isle of Wight Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Norfolk Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Isle of Wight Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Southampton Academy on the 17th. As for Norfolk Academy, they will head out to face off against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th.
