Softball Recap: Lakeville South Comes Up Short

Lakeville South had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it five. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosemount Irish. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Lakeville South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Dorner, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Dorner has hit this season.

As for Rosemount, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Rosemount's side, the result came thanks to Jorey Fry's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. Fry has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenzi Benson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeville South will square off against Eagan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rosemount, they will face off against North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Polars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Irish surely won't give up without a fight.
