Basketball Recap: Gladewater Comes Up Short

Gladewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Troup Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1513th, while the Tigers are ranked 617th).

Gladewater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Troup, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Gladewater will head out to face off against Tatum at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tatum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Gladewater likes a good challenge. Troup has already played their next game (against West Rusk), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
