Basketball Recap: Webber Trojans vs. Brownstown Bombers
The Webber Trojans lost against the Brownstown Bombers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Webber took a serious blow against the Bombers, falling 57-22. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Webber in their matchups with the Bombers: they've now lost four in a row.
Webber's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe King, who scored eight points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Laney Hails, who scored three points along with four steals.
Brownstown was led to victory by Lexi Seabaugh and Dayana Haslett. Seabaugh scored 12 points, while Haslett scored 13 points.
Webber's defeat dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Brownstown, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.
Webber won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Movin Maroons at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Dieterich focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday. Brownstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
